Hello, nice to meet you! I’m Katie, a millennial & recent college grad (how long am I allowed to say that?).
Recently I fell into the impulse-purchase-pit… but to justify it, I did emerge with some really lovely products from the Colourpop x Hello Kitty collection. There’s just something about Hello Kitty that transcends all demographics… maybe it’s that iconic face and the decades of cuteness associated with the brand? Whatever it is- it totally works. I bought two lip products and an eye shadow: clearly, I wanted all the things pink. And shiny.
After a long hiatus, I’ve returned! As Spring has finally sprung, I decided it was time to start blogging once more and come back with a bang by sharing my favorite products that got me through winter.
For those who love mascara, we’ve all (at one point) experienced the feeling when your mascara is running out: the pain floods you, knowing the imminent day you have to replace it is quickly approaching. No matter how many times you tell yourself, “just one more day,” you know you can only repeat this sentiment for so long. Ever since I got a trial-size of the Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara by BareMinerals, I’ve never looked back. I learned they “revamped” it recently, much to my dismay.
I’m perpetually seeking new home decor items I can’t live without. My go-to places online for inspiration are West Elm and Crate & Barrel, but I prefer a much cheaper price point. I “stumbled” into T. J. Maxx and HomeGoods this past week, and I came out with some amazingly affordable pieces. No one would ever know these goodies came from an off-price retailer- it’ll be our little secret!
“Classy,” a book by Derek Blasberg, provides a comprehensive guide “for the extremely modern lady” on how to be exactly that- a classy, modern lady. Sounds simple enough, but it covers everything- politics, fashion, culture, and everything in between. This book is the real-life equivalent of a video game walkthrough.
I love Canadian brands, and I like lipstick…a lot. I’ve been teetering back and forth on whether to break down and get a Bite Beauty lipstick. I did. I tried the Multistick to see how well it performs as a lipstick, a blush, and eyeshadow. Continue reading
Who doesn’t love free stuff for your birthday? I’m a sucker for free samples, so it’s no surprise I have been impatiently waiting for September to roll around to snag my free Ulta and Sephora birthday gifts. I found out about this just a few months ago (I know, I know, I’m late to the game). This year, makeup lovers rejoice! The retailers both offer some pretty fantastic goodies.
Young people that embody confetti-like explosions of lightheartedness speckle the streets of Tokyo- this style is called “Decora.” Certainly unique, this style illuminates the grey streets of Tokyo in a way no other style tribe can.
As technology continues to transform our daily lives, the fusion of fashion and technology becomes more and more inevitable. From Fitbits to Apples Watches, these new “wearables” (wearable technology) have given us unprecedented connectability and convenience.
